The scanning process is a bit different in Windows 7 than in Windows XP. Different scanners will vary, but the process is very similar. Go to 'Devices and Printers' and click on the adequate link. Adjust the quality of the scanned image and choose the output file type. Preview it and click 'Scan'. High quality will take a longer time. You can tag the document or view it in Windows Photo Viewer. Another way is to place the document that you wish to scan in the scanner, to open the 'Devices and Printers' window, right click on the scanning device and select 'Start Scan'. This will direct you straight to the 'New Scan' windows, where you can start the scan process and pick the properties.
