There are four major options if you want to convert slides into digital format: slide duplicators, flatbed scanners, dedicated film scanners and professional photo shops. Slide duplicators gets attached to the DSLR camera in pace of the lens. They don't offer the best quality. Flatbed scanners can sometimes require an extra transparency adapter attachment. Dedicated film scanners are expensive but offer great resolution. A professional photo shop is the best bet to scan slides. Regardless of the method, the slides need to be cleaned on both sides and then backed up in various ways.
